Jesus Christ is currently in glory, in a dimension we refer to as "up there" or "heaven" or "God's throne room," but impossible for us to fathom. From that reality, he intermingles with ours, aiding us in daily life. The book of Hebrews thought of this help as Jesus' high priestly ministry. He can aid us in daily life because of his position at the right hand of God.

Popular notion says one must find themselves before they enter into marriage. Our society has increasingly viewed marriage as a sign of arrival, rather than a right of passage. People see marriage as something you do once you have gotten your life together. However, the Christian church views sanctification as the sign of arrival, but marriage as one of many potential paths to get there.

Jeremiah, like most of the prophets, was a solitary pillar of truth in a wasteland of doctrinal deception. He stood for the truth of God, saying hard things during hard times when no one else would. As truth spilled from his mouth, lies dripped from the lips of many false prophets.

Paul demonstrated how the word of God is meant to interact with the body of Christ to build it up for a life of ministry. Much of this ministry is to one another. How long will this Christ-designed method continue? “Until we all attain,” is how Paul puts it, listing various elements which ought to grow within the church. The psalmist stated his commitment. He would not concern himself with matters too great or too awesome to grasp. He knew he was not God, would never be God, and could not replace God. In his infinite wisdom and knowledge, God can handle thoughts regarding all matters, but we are not him, so we cannot.

You see, the Christian life follows Christ, the one who embraced affliction to win the church. He had a vision of what could be, but also the suffering required to get there, and endured that pain to reach his goal. We will never atone for anyone’s sin like Christ did, but once in Christ, he will further his kingdom by calling us to pockets of pain.
