A Consideration of Our Great Salvation

Archival Post

The book of Hebrews stands there like a giant appeal to use the salvation God has granted us. What we have in Christ is incredible. We must use it. For this reason, at the outset of the book, the author answers three questions. Each question is designed to help us rejoice at the salvation Christ brought us so that we might enjoy his salvation to the fullest.

Hosea: A Living Parable

Archival Post

God asked Hosea to do something hard. As a prophet, Hosea would serve as a living parable for a rebellious Israel. God told him to marry a woman who would be unfaithful. She would betray him in the most debased ways, choosing a life of prostitution over life with Hosea.

The Unfortunate and Ugly Move From Spirit to Flesh

Archival Post

The Lord wants to move his people forward, upward, onward. He has a plan for each one of you. Recently, I've seen this in a fresh way in my own life. The fruit of the Spirit is love -- and there are many outworkings of that love. I believe the Spirit wants to produce heightened joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in me. And in you. He wants to move us forward, to take us further into the work and fruit of his Spirit.

A Vision for Marriage

October 25, 2021 Nate Holdridge

A Vision for Marriage

Churches should have a vision of what their communities could look like if impacted by Christ. Various facets of life are all driven forward by having a strong vision. Militaries, families, sports teams, enterprises, research -- all of it is propelled by vision. It makes sense, then, that married couples should have a vision for marriage. Too much is at stake. Jesus Christ: The Ultimate Man

Part 3: Priest Jesus

In the Old Testament era, there was a priesthood. They existed to serve and worship God, but also to facilitate the worship of others. They were focused on God, but also on God's people. They were meant to make the house of God a house of prayer for all nations. Their lives were focused upward, but also outward. (5 Minutes/1000 Words)

The Reverent, Faithful, Whole-Hearted Bible Teacher

Archival Post

King Jehoshaphat was one of Judah’s godly kings. He established reforms and devoted himself (and the people) to the worship of the LORD. One initiative of his was to reestablish the Levites, priests, and heads of families. God intended for each of them to instruct others in Scripture, but by the days of Jehoshaphat it wasn't happening, so he revived them. Each role — Levites, priests, and family heads — would begin to speak the word of God once again. It was time for Scripture to find application in the daily lives of the people.
