This week we look to Exodus chapters 16 and 17. At this point, in the book of Exodus, God has delivered his people from their Egyptian captivity. The three sets of three plagues have been brought upon Egypt. The angel of death came upon Egypt for the 10th and final plague. The Passover occurred, and the people of Israel were commanded to go, given riches and wealth and treasure from the Egyptian people and urged to go on their way. God had redeemed a people for himself.

Even though Pharaoh had allowed the people of Israel to depart after the terrible events of the Passover were unleashed upon his own household and the households of every Egyptian, there is one last demonstration of God's power that needs to be performed for the people of Israel to fully be set free from Egypt and belong to God. Make no mistake, the people of Israel are exiting slavery from Egypt, but are entering into service of God.

Hey, Calvary family. Thanks for joining us in our study through the book of Exodus. Today we're in Exodus chapters 12 and 13. There is tension now in the text. God has unleashed His wrath upon the Egyptians. Plague after plague has come down upon Pharaoh and his people, and Pharaoh's heart has been hardened.

Welcome to our Tuesday Night Through the Bible Series. Right now, we're in the book of Exodus and will look at chapters 10 and 11 in this session. As we begin in Exodus 10, we are dropping into the tail end of the plague series that God brought upon Pharaoh and Egypt, and we will be looking at the eighth and ninth plagues.

In our last study in the Book of Exodus, we saw God begin the process of calling Moses to be the figurehead who would be the deliverer, the prophet, the instrument that God would use to deliver the people of Israel from their slavery in Egypt. They of course had grown in Egypt over a number of years, over 400 years and had gone there originally as a small family with favor from pharaoh because of Joseph and the good success and ministry that he had executed as the right-hand man of pharaoh, but Exodus tells us that a day came when a pharaoh arose who did not know Joseph.

At the close of Exodus chapter two, we were told that God saw Israel's distress. In fact, we were told that God heard their distress and that God saw their distress and that God was willing to come down and deal with their distress. Exodus 2:25, closed that distress of Israel with a statement, "God saw the people of Israel and God knew." With that, we're set up for the events of Exodus chapter three, that God has seen the difficulty of the people of Israel. He's seen them in their slavery in Egypt, and He's seen that they are now subjected to a Pharaoh who's forgotten Joseph who came before, and He now is going to move on their behalf.

Hey everyone. Welcome to our through the Bible journey. And today we're in Genesis chapter 49. As we conclude our study through the book of Genesis with this teaching chapter 49 and of course, chapter 50. It's good to remember that the book of Genesis began with life. God created, God spoke life into existence, no random accident, no chance, but a definite designer and God being the first cause the one who made all that is, and the one who is uncaused, the one who is eternal and has never not been in existence.

Today we're in the book of Genesis chapter 35. If you turn there in your Bibles. Genesis chapter 35. Now this chapter really is the conclusion to the journey of, and story of Jacob. His sons will be the focus of the rest of the book of Genesis, especially his son, Joseph, and also his son Judah.

Where we left off in our last study in the book of Genesis, we saw Jacob clearly and obviously chosen by God. He of course had manipulated his way into receiving his father's blessing. But then after going on the run from his brother, Esau, God met Jacob at Bethel. The ladder of God was lowered in his vision or dream from heaven down to Jacob and angels from God ascending and descending upon the ladder.

In Genesis chapter 27 and 28, Moses turns his attention to the story and the line of Jacob. And just as a reminder to the setting that we're in, in chapter 25 and 26, we saw the emergence of Jacob and his older brother by a couple of minutes, Esau. And we saw in chapter 25 God's selection by promising to Rebecca that Jacob would be the chosen heir. Remember, in the book of Genesis, we are chasing the question from the very beginning of the book, who will be the one to come and crush Satan, who will be the serpent crusher that in chapter three of Genesis God promised to Eve?
